The Arabic word "souq" translates to market, but it means so much more! Khartoum's biggest market is called "Souq Omdurman" and it is located in the western part of the city. Lots of small and intricated streets add up to a place where one can find anything, whether it'd be fruit, clothes, jewellery, folklor, leather or fake hair.
Spending a day exploring the souq is a whole new experience.
We really like the blog, the pictures are beautiful and we're so jealous! I hope you get a chance to visit the Maygoma Orphanage and if you write about it, don't forget to mention the two awesome people that showed you it :P enjoy the rest of your trip - Khadija & Leena ( we just realised we didn't exchange names haha)

ReplyDeleteUnfortunately we didn't have enough time to visit the orphanage, but we still found somebody that really needed our clothes.
